A BRITISH tourist has died after she was allegedly stabbed 41 times with a screwdriver by her partner in a Turkish hotel room.

The 26-year-old woman was found dead at about 12:30pm local time on Tuesday in a hotel in Istanbul’s Fatih district.

Hotel staff reported hearing “sounds” coming from a room and found the victim “lying in a pool of blood”, according to local media.

Medical teams were notified and arrived at the scene, but the woman could not be saved.

She had suffered extensive injuries including lacerations on her throat and across her body.

Examiners concluded she was killed using a screwdriver.

Turkish police launched an investigation and found her partner wearing a bloodied white t-shirt.
