DeMar DeRozan addresses report daughter Diar was escorted out after Raptors game due to online threats

DeMar DeRozan has addressed a report that his nine-year-old daughter was escorted out of Scotiabank Arena by team security after her shrieks during Raptors free-throw attempts went viral at Wednesday’s play-in game.
DeRozan told NBC Sports Chicago that the measure to escort Diar DeRozan was precautionary after she allegedly received several online threats, according to a report from Chris Haynes of TNT.
“I was with her. I guarantee you nothing would ever happen when I’m with my daughter,” DeRozan told NBC Sports Chicago after the Bulls lost to the Miami Heat on Friday.
“It’s just idiotic people at the end of the day. Obviously, it’s frustrating when you hear any type of threats. You don’t try to take anything lightly. My thing is, my daughter don’t know nothing about it. She just knows the good side of, we won the game. As long as she’s happy with that, I’m not worried about nothing else,” he added.
Toronto police told the Star they had no reports on file regarding DeRozan’s daughter and were not made aware of any threats.
Diar DeRozan was all over social media, in news headlines and on SportsCentre after her shrieks could be heard throughout Scotiabank Arena and on the television broadcast every time the Raptors shot a free throw.
The Raptors missed 18 of 36 free throws in a 109-105 loss to DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls, ending their season.
