An activist lawyer, Madubuachi Idam, has faulted the decision of the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government to revert to the old national anthem written by “a white-woman.”

Idam said Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka should feel humiliated that he was not considered competent to compose a new national anthem.

Last week Wednesday, DAILY POST reported that Tinubu signed the National Anthem Bill 2024, into law.

The old national anthem, “Nigeria we hail thee” was reintroduced with the assent of the president.

Mixed reactions have continued to trail the decision of Mr President to assent to the bill at a time when Nigerians are experiencing hardship.

However, the Abuja-based lawyer said the reintroduction of the old national anthem showed that Nigerian politicians are too lazy to think.

Chatting with DAILY POST, Idam: “The name ‘Nigeria’ was given by a White-woman. Nigeria now uses an ‘Anthem’ written by a White-woman too.

“I hope you all can now understand that the Nigeria’s political class are either lazy to think or does not trust their thoughts (I’m unsure which is really their problem).
