Assistant teacher,33, repeatedly raped 12-year-old student at her home during a two week ‘relationship’

An assistant teacher in Ohio has been arrested and charged with rape, gross sexual imposition, and unlawful sexual conduct with a minor after police said she repeatedly had sex with a 12-year-old student at her home over a two-week long “relationship.”

Mandy Davis, 33, who worked at Teays Valley West Middle School as a teacher’s aide, had a sexual relationship with the student between April 26 and May 11 in her Bloomfield, Ohio home, The Daily Mail reported.

“We take these allegations very seriously and are committed to the safety and well-being of our students as our first priority,” the school district said in a statement.

Davis made her first appearance in court on Thursday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.

According to the report, trouble started when a concerned employee noticed an ‘odd relationship’ between Davis and the victim and reported it to the school authorities, who launched an investigation.

Police executed a search warrant at Davi’s home, secured evidence and arrested her on Wednesday, the report said. She was arraigned the following day.

The Columbus Dispatch reported that the school district later confirmed that Mandy Davis worked part-time as a teacher’s aide on an “as needed” basis.

Davis was fired as a teacher’s aide by the Teavys Valley Local School District. The alleged sexual relationship did not happen in the school, according to the criminal complaint

“Since this is a pending personnel matter involving a district employee, our practice is not to publicly discuss the specific facts and circumstances. However, we can confirm that Ms. Davis has been notified that her services are no longer needed by the Board of Education,” a statement provided to the media outlet read.
