Police say a Maryland man went on a rampage on Saturday, shooting or stabbing to death three of his neighbors and setting his home on fire before responding officers fatally shot him.
Everton Brown, 56, who neighbors said had a long history of aggression, was confronted by Baltimore County police early Saturday after cops got a report of a suspect shooting at people in his neighborhood in Woodlawn, department officials said in a news release Sunday.
Investigators recovered the weapon, as well as a large knife on the hood of one of his cars, police said.
“That threat was neutralized,” county police spokeswoman Joy Stewart told the Baltimore Sun Saturday. “At that point, firefighters were able to address the fire.”
Police identified the victims in a news release, stating that a preliminary investigation indicates that the shooter forced his way into a neighboring house, where he stabbed and shot Ismael Quintanilla, 41.
As Sara Alacote, 37, ran from that home to escape, Brown chased her outside, fatally shooting her several times, the news release said. When two neighbors emerged from their home, Brown shot them as well, according to police.
One of those two, 24-year-old Sagar Ghimire, was later pronounced dead, the news release said. The other gunshot victim, who was not identified, is recovering from his injuries.
Similar incident happened two years ago in Oklahoma when a woman was caught on camera firing gunshots into her neighbor’s house and then firebombing the property. You can read the story here
