A Texas assistant teacher who made headlines two weeks ago after she was convicted of having sex with multiple underage students, has been formally sentenced to four years behind bars.

According to the Texarkana Gazette, former Texas teacher’s aide Ashlyn Faye Bell, 24, was formally sentenced Monday after she pleaded guilty in April to multiple sex crimes.

She admitted to two charges of improper relationship between educator and student involving two 17-year-old boys and two counts of sexual assault of a child involving a 16-year-old boy.

“A jury tasked with deciding Bell’s punishment sentenced her to four years in prison on one count of sexual assault of a child and recommended terms of probation on the remaining three counts,” the outlet wrote.

The jury also assessed fines for the Texas teacher’s aide’s sex crimes totaling $1,000 that Bell will be required to pay as a condition of probation.

She appeared in court Monday before Judge John Tidwell wearing cuffs, shackles and a chain encircling her waist.
