A female cashier was shot dead inside a DeKalb County grocery store in Georgia on Monday simply for asking a man to wear a face mask due to the covid-19 pandemic, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
The man refused and got into an argument with the woman before pulling out a gun and shooting her in the head.
The deputy, who worked for the DeKalb police department for 30 years, was hit twice by gunfire but was wearing a bulletproof vest, according to the report. He was taken to Atlanta Medical Center, where he is stable.
WSB-TV reports that the cashier later died.
