You can do a lot with a Mac laptop on its own, but with the right accessories, you can do a lot more, and better.

Whether it’s a Pro model or the Air, below is a list of 15 accessories that beautifully complement any Mac laptop to maximize its functionality and your productivity at home on a desk or out and about, like the Logitech MX Master 3S for Mac mouse, the Satechi USB-C hub, and the Mophie Powerstation Pro XL backup battery.

Logitech MX Master 3S for Mac

Logitech’s MX Master 3S for Mac is the best productivity mouse you can buy.

The Logitech MX Master 3S for Mac offers the perfect balance of comfort, features, connectivity, and accuracy. It works on nearly every surface, even glass, and has a 70-day battery life on a single charge with the included USB-C cable. If you run out of juice, a single minute of charging will get you back to clicking for three hours. It connects to Mac laptops over Bluetooth, so there’s no dongle required. You can also quickly switch the connection between three different devices if you use a mouse with a tablet or another computer.

Apple Magic Trackpad

Apple’s trackpads are the best in the business, and the Magic Trackpad brings the experience outside the laptop.

Some love the trackpad for swiping, clicking, and scrolling, and Apple’s built-in laptop trackpads are the best there is. The Magic Trackpad brings Apple’s legendary trackpad outside the confines of your laptop and on your desk, and it offers the same accuracy and functionality as the built-in trackpad.

Keychron K1 SE Wireless Mechanical Keyboard

The Keychron K1 SE is a fantastic wireless keyboard with slim-profile mechanical keys and switches for ultra-satisfying typing. It looks phenomenal, too.

For $15 less than Apple’s Magic Keyboard, the Keychron K1 SE offers the satisfying mechanical keyboard experience that Apple’s keyboard can’t match. Unlike the usual chunky mechanical keyboard, the Keychron K1 SE has a slim profile, with sleek keycaps and slim-profile mechanical switches. It’s connects to Macs over Bluetooth, too.

Anker 737 GaNPrime 120W Charger

The Anker GanPrime 737 charger plugged into a computer a phone and some headphones.
Anker 737 GanPrime 120W charger can charge an Apple Mac laptop at full speed while charging a phone and an accessory at the same time, like earbuds or a smartwatch.

Unlike the iPhone, Apple is still including chargers with its Mac laptops, which is nice. But the charger that comes with your laptop isn’t necessarily the best, or the fastest, especially if you have a MacBook Air. Anker’s 737 GanPrime charger can output up to 120W, and I found that it can charge an M2 MacBook Air at 100W compared to the 30W charger it comes with. The Anker 737 also has two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port to charge other devices, like a phone, tablet, earbuds, or smartwatch compared to the single USB-C port on Apple’s chargers.

Anker 643 USB-C to USB-C Cable 100W

Anker’s 643 cable supports up to 100W charging, and it’s made of premium soft-touch silicone for a sleek look. Shown above is the USB-C to Lightning version, so make sure to get the USB-C to USB-C version for your laptop.

The Anker 643 USB-C to USB-C Cable 100W is an upgrade over the charging cable that came with your Mac for its premium soft-touch silicone look, durability, and color options. Anker claims it has a 25,000-bend lifespan, which I haven’t put to the test, but I can attest it’s tough after several encounters with my toddler.

A simple, inexpensive stand made of premium metal is an excellent way to keep your Mac laptop off your desk and raise the screen to make it more comfortable for your neck. It pairs beautifully with the Keychron K1 SE keyboard and Logitech MX Master 3S for Mac mouse I mentioned earlier.

The Macally Vertical Laptop Stand keeps your Mac laptop out of the way to occupy less space on your desk when you’re using a monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

The Macally Vertical Laptop Stand is ideal if you don’t want to use its built-in monitor and use your own monitor on a desk. It keeps your Mac laptop on your desk without letting it occupy much space. The brackets are padded with soft anti-scratch padding, and they’re adjustable for Macs of different thicknesses.

The Satechi Slim Aluminum Type-C Multi-Port Adapter V2 is an excellent option to add ports to your Mac for a monitor, two USB-A devices, SD and microSD storage cards, and features 60W USB-C Power Delivery for charging devices.

Satechi makes high-end accessories that compliment Mac laptops exceedingly well. The company has countless options of USB-C adapters with a variety of ports for different users and needs. A good and inexpensive starting point is the Slim Aluminum Type-C Multi-Port Adapter V2 that offers two USB-A ports, an HDMI port that supports 4K monitors up to 60 frames-per-second, microSD and SD card ports, and a USB-C Power Delivery port that delivers up to 60W of charging power. Just note that the adapter’s USB-C port doesn’t transfer data, but you can use the other USB-C port on your Mac laptop if you need to transfer data over USB-C.

A large capacity external SSD expands your Mac’s storage capacity for a smaller price than Apple’s internal storage options. The T7 uses the fastest USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard for data transfer, which means it’ll feel like your files transfer to and from your Mac as quickly as your its built-in storage.

AirPods Pro 2nd-generation

Apple’s AirPods Pro need no introduction, and the latest second-generation model is a significant bump over the originals in terms of sound quality and noise cancellation. They’re the ideal bridge between your Mac laptop and other Apple devices, like iPhones and iPads, as they seamlessly connect with each other and automatically switch the connection.

Sony MDR-7506 wired headphones

The Sony MDR-7506 headphones.
Sony’s MDR-7506 are perfect in every way, from their classic design, stunning sound, supreme comfort, and incredibly affordable price.

Recent Mac laptops like the M2 MacBook Air, 13-inch M2 MacBook Pro, and the M1 Pro MacBook Pro models were upgraded with 3.5mm headphone jacks that support high-impedance headphones that deliver more clarity than standard low-impedance headphones. That’s where the Sony MDR-7606 come in. These headphones are legendary classics that are used by professionals across any industry that involves audio for their incredible clarity and sublime sound quality for an unexpectedly affordable price.

Logitech Z623 speaker system with subwoofer

The Logitech Z623 speaker system.
Logitech’s Z623 speaker system includes a subwoofer and delivers surprisingly excellent audio for its price.

Owning these myself, I can’t recommend any other speaker system for the price. They sound incredible for their affordable price tag. The only unfortunate thing is that they’re wired and plug into your Mac’s headphone jack. If you’re adamant about keeping a wire-free desk setup, Logitech offers a Bluetooth adapter.
