The first Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club will open at Hong Kong International Airport Terminal 1 on October 25, 2022.

It’s been over a year since Chase first announced its plans to open Chase Sapphire Lounges at airports in the US and abroad, but little had been confirmed about when the first location would open.

The wait is now over — the first Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club will open at Hong Kong International Airport Terminal 1 on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 (Hong Kong time).

This lounge isn’t a ground-up build; as part of its relationship with Airport Dimensions (a lounge operator), Chase will take over the space previously occupied by another The Club lounge. The Hong Kong Chase Sapphire Lounge will offer amenities like seasonal dining options, craft cocktails, and comfortable spaces for resting and working. To access the lounge, you’ll need a Chase Sapphire Reserve® card, LoungeKey membership, or Priority Pass airport lounge membership.

Here’s what to expect from Chase’s first Sapphire Lounge location in Hong Kong.

We’re focused here on the rewards and perks that come with each card. These cards won’t be worth it if you’re paying interest or late fees. When using a credit card, it’s important to pay your balance in full each month, make payments on time, and only spend what you can afford to pay.

Chase Sapphire Reserve and Priority Pass members will be able to access comfortable seating and upscale amenities at the Hong Kong Chase Sapphire Lounge.

To date, Chase has announced nine Sapphire Lounge by The Club locations, and the Hong Kong lounge will be the first to open on October 25.

You’ll find the Chase Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong Terminal 1, on Level 7 near Gate 40 in the West Hall of the International Departures area. If you’re departing from the East Hall, you’ll be able to access the lounge via shuttle or a 10-15 minute walk.

At 11,948 square feet, the Hong Kong Chase Sapphire Lounge promises to be a spacious and comfortable spot to escape from the busy airport terminal. Guests can expect premium amenities, including:

  • Locally curated menus and art
  • Spaces for relaxing and working
  • Fresh and seasonal dining options
  • Signature cocktails, local beer, and a curated wine list
  • Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi
  • An in-lounge digital experience for food and beverage orders, as well as access to media and entertainment
  • Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free menu options, and complimentary refreshments (soft drinks and alcoholic drinks)
  • Admission via a quick, contactless scan

To start, the lounge will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time, with longer hours to be phased in at a later date.

How to access the Chase Sapphire Lounge in Hong Kong

Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders, as well as Priority Pass members (including those with membership from cards like The Platinum Card® from American Express and Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card) and LoungeKey members, will be able to access the Hong Kong Chase Sapphire Lounge. Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders and Priority Pass members can also bring in up to two guests at no additional charge.

This is actually a terrific improvement for Priority Pass members who travel through the airport, because there are no other Priority Pass lounges currently available in Hong Kong (just a handful of Priority Pass restaurants). And, if the Chase Sapphire Lounge is as upscale as promised, it will be a big competitor to the Hong Kong Amex Centurion Lounge (currently closed).

Other Chase Sapphire Lounges coming in 2023

Chase has confirmed that the next Sapphire Lounge locations won’t open until 2023, with exact dates yet to be determined. A total of nine lounges are in the works, with these airports confirmed so far in addition to Hong Kong:

  • New York-LaGuardia (LGA) — Terminal B
  • Boston (BOS) — Terminal B to C connector
  • San Diego (SAN) — Terminal 2 West
  • Phoenix (PHX) — Terminal 4 South 1
  • Las Vegas (LAS) — Terminal 1 C Gates
  • Washington Dulles (IAD) — Terminal A

If you frequent any of these airports, opening the Chase Sapphire Reserve® or another card that offers Priority Pass membership could make your journey much more comfortable. That said, Priority Pass and Chase Sapphire Lounges aren’t your only options; check out our guide to the top credit cards with airport lounge access to find the best fit for your travel style.
