RUSSIAN strikes have caused major “wide scale” damage to the Ukrainian energy grid, plunging 1.5 million homes into blackouts.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine has been unable to destroy all the missiles, ” we do not yet have the technical ability to shoot down 100% of Russian missiles and attack drones. We will gradually come to this – with the help of our partners, I’m confident of this.”

Kremlin leader Putin has further been accused of plots to destroy the hydroelectric dam on the Dnipro river which could have devastating consequences.

Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky told the European Council: “If Russian terrorists blow up this dam, more than 80 settlements, including Kherson, will be in the zone of rapid flooding. Hundreds of thousands of people can fall victim to it.”

Ukraine’s defence minister, Oleksii Yuriyovych said Russia’s “new tactics used are the same tactics in Syria and Aleppo,” adding that it is in a “fight with the civilians not the armed forces.”
